After Cataract Surgery Shadows

try demolition of the tower church 101 years ago

Tower of Plenas church has always had problems since its construction.
Already in the eighteenth century, the spire crowning the tower, which was similar to the SEO of Zaragoza, and suffered damage and threatening to collapse. The tower was built in a somewhat clumsy and twisted due to faster drying of the face that faces south.
The materials used were of poor quality and easily deteriorate, resulting in landslides and cracks.
In 1909 he tried to bring down the tower and build a smaller one, but fortunately there were no funds to carry out the work and everything ended in smoke, thanks to which we can still admire the huge baroque tower of our parish church. This issue was echoed by the press of Zaragoza.

LA TORRE DE FULL.
known is the jealous solicitude with which the prelate Mr. Soldevila serves all as it relates to the preservation of churches in the diocese. Not many months ago that Mr. Soldevila made a trip to Madrid getting the state substantial amounts subsidize the repair of two temples in the province of Zaragoza, after overcoming many difficulties encountered in the file.
Knowing Mr. Soldevila the ruinous state in which the action of time is the church tower in full, in order to avert a catastrophe that made history in the town said given the height of the tower and proximity her house, the government has long managed the demolition of the building and a grant to rebuild one of greater strength.
Now, to mark the message Plenas neighbors have risen to the Minister of Grace and Justice through the Civil Governor, the Archbishop sent a letter to Mr. Gaston, signifying their commitment to the wishes of neighbors and those expressing its intention to cooperate in the efforts being made by government to achieve what is sought.

LA TORRE DE CHURCH
From our correspondent.
The number of yesterday's Herald I see that the highest authorities of the province se preocupan del estado ruinoso de la torre de esta villa.
Esperemos que esas celosas autoridades cast them into oblivion no matter to have no regrets in his day some very sensitive disgrace. Will keep readers abreast of what happens.
José Luño.
